During the celebration of their community, country and culture, over 80,000 Puerto Ricans walk between 44th and 86th streets in Manhattan during the annual National Day Parade Puerto Rico. ” Vibrant ” is not a strong enough word to describe this event, which hosts nearly three million spectators each year and includes musical performances , tanks and many Puerto Rican celebrities.

The lawn fills up quickly , so it is advisable to arrive early , rain or shine .

The city of New York is the home of a gay, lesbian , bisexual and transgender among the most dynamic and successful in the world. This incredible diversity is a strength for the city. This is never more evident than during Pride Week, when the neighborhoods of the five ” boroughs ” celebrate the progress made in New York and elsewhere since the Stonewall riots of 1969. The week ends with the famous march on 5th Avenue .
